Parable for today
Where comes the bride Everyone hears someone call their name and the responses vary, from total incognizance to a fluttering heart. What are we to do? Some of us want to flirt; and we do; we learn to like it. Its whats expected ? Of the flirters some like to flirt and no more, touch and go maybe not even touch. We like the brief encounter and that satisfies us. The intention of yet others is to flirt; as a means, in hope of a date. Is there more than, continues uncertainty? There must be right? A date is a time and a place to meet. Dating is a little more than flirting, its touch or in-touch and go but on a regular basis. There must be something better about commitment, a regular date especially when its the same time and the same place every week. Appearing like a date to date. Is it to test the water or to establish relationship? The shallowness of continual testing generally leaves those who do, with sand beneath their feet, feeling not very supported. While others venture out for something deeper something more staid, hoping for something more solid and not being considered all wet. But why, to be popular or to appear brave? And then there are always no shows the do-nothings, who provoke others with fear, What of them? Our engagement if we have one at this point is built on our motive What constitutes relationship? Time, Place or who were with or is it our motive Are we faced with, want or need, at this point? Reasons to go on what are the benefits? Followed by what will it cost? What will I gain? And what will I have to give up? Am I able to commit? Why should I? The dating game is intact, well-entrenched and gaining adherents every day evermore committed to something. This is relationship at the cost efficient plateau; this cant be love, it must be infatuation? Because it seems no one wants to get married!
