What
has removed us…
from
realizing our need of God?
Do we think about God?
What is your purpose or goal in doing so?
What or how do you think about God?
Who is He? What does He look like? Does He have a size or shape?
How do you think about God?
Do you think about God as to who He is, Himself? Personally?
Do you think about Him as an abstract or a person? Does God have a
personality?
God is Spirit; what does that mean to you?
How do you relate to God as Spirit? Do you try to visualize Him? Do
you try to contact Him? Do you just talk to Him without much
consideration of just who He is or what His appearance is? Have you
ever considered His appearance? Do you know what He sounds like? Do
you know His voice? He said we would know His voice.
The bible says call Him father.
Do you really think of Him as father? Is He more of a father then your
biological father? Have you ever compared the two? What role do you
think God wants to play in our lives in Him directing us to call Him
father? Do we compare our personal relation to our biological father,
to God? Do we look at God in that light? Is it better or worse? Where
do you think they both should be? Do you believe God expects us to
change our acceptance or response to Him? What do you think He expects
from us? What do you think He expects from us in view of removing Adam
& Eve from the garden over an apple? What does that say to us
about His expectation of obedience? Stop… do you need God?
When do you think about God?
Does it take a frame of mind; like being in a special place or
thought pattern, to think of Him?
Do you need structure, an entrance point into communicating with God
or someone to guide you?
Do you feel unworthy or not good enough to actually talk to Him… or
know Him?
Do you think about who He is as Himself or do you just try to make
requests; hoping He’s listening?
Do you think about Him or do you just want what He can obtain for you?
Do you think He hears you? Do you think He always hears you? How much
effort have you made in trying to reach Him?
About, how often do you give thought to God?
Do you think about Him daily? Weekly? Monthly? Anywhere in between
or do you think of Him at all? Or do you think about Him only when
you’re in need of something and then you make your request without
thinking of Him? Like dropping a letter in the post box? You send it
with no thought how it will get there?
Do you think you need God?
Compared to…?
What do you need Him for? What you can’t accomplish or acquire,
things that are out of your reach? Or is there something so
independent in you, you would only relate it to God… trusting no one
else? Do you need Him because you need no one or nothing else? Or are
you just telling God what you need? Do you think that’s what God is
about, filling your needs?
Have you ever come to that place where you’ve come to the end of
yourself and reach out for Him? Have you shrunk back from that place?
Do you need Him more than anything else? Is He rated, unquestionably
above everyone and everything in your life? Do you believe you’ve
made Him first? Then what do you believe He created you for… your
pleasure or His… to serve yourself or serving Him?
Do you need Him to prove something for you? Like do this or that and
maybe I’ll need you.
What is it, that you need more than God?
Do you need to feel content? But you don’t?
Do you need to feel good about yourself? But you don’t?
Do you need to feel in control?
Are you lonely? Do you feel worthless?
Do you believe God doesn’t listen to you? Or that God doesn’t
care?
Are you not sure He’s there? Do doubts creep in often? Does that
worry you? Why does it happen?
Do you consider yourself happy or do you feel your life is filled with
joy everyday? Do you feel safe? Are you at peace with the world? Are
you at peace with yourself? Do you feel loved… all the time?
What do you fear?
What do you worry about or what concerns you the most?
Have you considered death? Is it final?
What has removed us… from our
realizing our need of God?
There has been established an argument within and without
Christianity that we do not know the name of God. Most of us have
questioned if God has a name or if we can call Him by name. To begin
to think about God for who He is begins in relationship to Him as
father. Then we can know His name. Then we can begin to know Him
personally.
If we do not need God we cannot have a relationship with Him. It is by
need that we are humbled before Him. It is by need we call Him
father… for there is no father like Him. We will find ourselves ever
dependent on God who is our father. We are loved by our father, who
created us, because He loves. Can we know the father? He knows us! He
has the hairs on our head counted.
Have you ever called to Him… gone to Him… approached Him… just
to know Him?
We can know Him only as much as we know and have relationship with
Jesus.
It is Jesus who teaches us God would have us call Him, father.
It is Jesus that demonstrates the love of God.
It is Jesus that demonstrates His mercy and the results of that mercy,
in power to heal and restore.
It is Jesus that demonstrates and teaches us our purpose… by His own
life.
It is Jesus that shows us how God the father expects us to live in
accordance to His will.
It is Jesus who commands us to love, as He loves.
It is Jesus who says the father and I are one!
It is Jesus who shows us the love of God for us by dying for us so we
may have relationship.
It is Jesus that asks forgiveness for us.
It is Jesus that demonstrates the resurrection.
It is Jesus that invites us into eternal life.
It is Jesus who prays for us even now as you read this.
Think… what do you need?
It is Jesus…
It is Jesus we need!
How much do you need Jesus?
Is He worth dying for…?
You cannot know the love of God without Jesus!
That is why every religion, that does not find Him as the way to God,
is without loving compassion. In fact, even those that know Jesus is
the way; will also be without mercy and compassion if they do not need
Him!!! Our need of Jesus will find us ever before Him. Humbled by His
loving presence we are changed. Our desire will overwhelm us led by
the spirit to follow Him even unto death; such will our love be. In
need of Him causes us to draw on His life changing love. And once we
are filled by His love we will desire to share it… to give it away
in selfless service to others.
How much do you need Jesus? Look at your life and your choices… are
they made by a dependency on Him. Do you make choices because of Him
or in spite of Him.
Do you need Jesus… right now?
