Man cries out to
God…
Man cries out to God… in fear
Man cries out to God… when he feels alone
Man cries out to God… when he is in pain
Man cries out to God… for hope… when hope is beyond reach
Man cries out to God… feeling doomed… and it is quickly
approaching!
Man cries out to God… when he comes to the end of himself
Man cries out to God… when his back is to the wall
Man cries out to God… when there’s no place else to go
Man cries out to God… facing death
Man cries out to God… for help… when no one else will
Man cries out to God… for assurance
Man cries out to God… are you there?
Man cries out to God… God prove yourself!
Man cries out to God… God show yourself!
Man cries out to God… help me believe!
Man cries out to God… how do I know you’re there?
Man cries out to God… to justify himself… his personhood
Man cries out to God… look what I’ve done!
Man cries out to God… to show he knows how
Man cries out to God… to display his boldness
Man cries out to God… in his curiosity
Man cries out to God… in the midst of a crowd… to appear holy
Man cries out to God… in his boredom
Man cries out to God… in presumption
Man cries out to God… in his silent inner scream
Man cries out to God… in his need, to be comforted
Man cries out to God… in his seeking maturity
Man cries out to God… in his need to be loved
Man cries out to God… in his need to be understood
Man cries out to God… in his need to be heard… just listened to…
Man cries out to God… in his need to be acknowledged
Man cries out to God… in his need for friendship
Man cries out to God… in his need just to speak… to someone…
Man cries out to God… in his disappointment
Man cries out to God… in the midst of his struggle
Man cries out to God… in his failure
Man cries out to God… in the darkness of despair
Man cries out to God… in his ineptitude
Man cries out to God… in his grief
Man cries out to God… in his frustration
Man cries out to God… in his anxiety
Man cries out to God… in his dilemma
Man cries out to God… in his quest for more
Man cries out to God… for aid in a decision
Man cries out to God… for direction
Man cries out to God… for assistance
Man cries out to God… for a cure
Man cries out to God… to answer his questions
Man cries out to God… to see if He’s what others say He is…
Man cries out to God… to see if He’ll answer
Man cries out to God… to test Him
Man cries out to God… in the departure of the value of reality
Man cries out to God… in the face of awe
Man cries out to God… in the simpleness of his faith
Man cries out to God… in the knowing there’s a cost
Man cries out to God… and too often wonders why
Man cries out to God… for many reasons… but
all prompted by the Spirit to begin relationship!
All the crying… what is all the crying about… is it a conscience
effort?
Is it a tirade of want? Is it a demand? Is it a call for help? Is it
beyond reason? What moves us? What compels us? What is our motive…
or what is the motive? What brings us to this point? Is it a learned
behavior or an observed response? We seek Him… we call to Him… we
try to make a deal with Him… We make an offering to Him… we even
plead… We do it but why?
Some will do it as we rest our heads to sleep… or when we wake… in
the comfort of our home… or in the quite of our solitude… we may be
inspired by the chill of night… seeing a barren landscape of snow…
a rolling sea, or the glistening of morning dew. We may see a sunrise or sunset… we may
even climb a mountain. Most are alone in their quest yet some are amid
family or friends… some among strangers or are in a crowd. For some
it may be the moment, a memory… a fleeting thought… a face in the
crowd… a situation. Some focus their mind and body some find it a
task and others yet just do it… some seek a formal setting like a
church building or a holy place, a shrine or monument, a cemetery or a
hollowed site, putting value in where we seek Him. Some wait or have
waited for the right time and place planning how, while most are
spontaneous and establish that relationship must always be that way.
Many need no such insights nor sensations nor stimulus nor place nor
thought… they just feel compelled or moved by desire.
Men cry out to God… we are not alone in our
moment… many have been in our place before us… where ever or
however we approach Him; we are doing nothing new… man has cried out
to God from the beginning… what moves us to call to Him to make
contact… is it really a place or idea or situation or circumstance?
Why do we cry out? God after all is in all these… allowing it all to unfold… how do
we make contact and is it in our desire or our doing?
In the depths of our cry for God is his call to us…
He is not lost we are…
The unfathomable thought, man’s inability to understand but just be
a recipient of, is the love of God…
He created us because He loves us and it is He who makes all things
possible even our cry to Him…
From the beginning man has separated himself from God and we are born
into that separation… the sense of what is in us that once we were
in relationship but now we are void… why? What do we do?
To realize our need of God! And just that alone… our need of Him!
Then to realize in our need we are separated from Him.
Then to acknowledge that we are the cause of the separation and not
God.
Then to know that the cause of separation is sin.
Then to ask forgiveness… to move away from our sin to serve God…
Humility in our attitude is the place of our desire…
God meets us… but we can’t see or hear unless we humble ourselves
in our desperate need…
God meets us in our heart not only by our willingness of motive, but
also by design…
Our approach is the witness and declaration of His Spirit within us…
God initiates… love always gives... and gives...
God has given us Jesus the Christ.
He has met our need…
We can only find what is given.
And what is given is all the love there is forever!
He is love personified… perfect love!
Alive in us… for our desire of Him… and Him alone!
His will extends Him into our doing, so others may see and hear and
have opportunity to give Him glory by our actions.
We do the will of God willfully, as our need is met and fulfilled!
Fulfilled we overflow in sharing…
Humility the door through which we pass, is recognizing as Peter “
Lord if you call me I’ll come to you… walking on water” the
impossible is breached by faith in Jesus and in no other way… for He
alone is the way!
Humility says we find the cries of our heart are at God’s
prompting… He makes the way…
He is the way…
Humility is our ineptness, our inability, our beginning met in our end
as we hear the call to come…
We cry out to God… and we find Jesus waiting…
For our cry is His call…
Are you crying out to God?
