Meditation

Psalm 19:14. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

Psalm 5:1. Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation.

Psalm 119:99. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.

Who pondered God? Who began to desire him in all their doing? Who started meditating?

Was it not God’s first created… Who had no desire or insight into anything until they sinned. Their only thoughts were of God and what He said to them. All their labors were for Him… and He would walk with them at the day’s end. The simplicity of their life was their focus on God. He was, their all, He loved them fully and He was enough.

They had perfect relationship…

Meditation is an attitude that is driven by having only one desire, to know God, to know His love… to fulfil our role in being created to have relationship with Him. Which begins in the desire of our heart. Was it not in Seth when he cried out to God… that his longing was just to know God; To know His love personally was not in words from his mouth but was a heart cry.

This desire is the beginning of meditation.

Abraham meditated, and like him Isaac meditated… unto David who wrote his meditations to the sound of a musical instrument to be spoken, chanted or sung.

To have our minds filled with God… put on the mind of Christ…

To have our hearts over flowing in His love…

David declares, let what I speak and the desire of my heart, which is you God, be found acceptable by you Lord.

Again David declares you know my thoughts are of you and finally he says all that I speak is of my desire for you God, it exceeds all the words and knowledge of my teachers.

David meditated on all that God spoke and repeats that the desire is your love lord, this is my cause to meditate.

Relationship to God is not, knowing of Him or teaching about Him or what He has done it is being loved and consumed by His intimate love; that our every thought is of Him… this is the essence of meditation.

To meditate is not an object lesson or an exercise, the motive is desire… which is the love of God. Not merely to think or ponder but to be transformed into His likeness… as Jesus.

Jesus in all you have done on earth…

let me join you this day and every day…

even unto the cross…
