Parable for today

In the cool of night… do you thirst for life… pick up that wood that belies living water…

You think your comfortable and warm? Or have you not noticed your growing cold?

Have we ceased tending the fire… because we love the aroma of the smoking embers?

Or because we want to save some things we like rather then burn them?

Have you ceased to thirst?

Have we not disturbed the water for a drink… for love of the sight of our reflection?

Having become drunk with yourselves?

What have you gained for yourself that you can keep?

Is the length of your life measurable… by any means of your understanding?

Can you hear what you see… can you live what you hear?

Will you pick up your cross…

And follow me…
