Did you hear the voice of God?
Are you called?

Scripture repeats the call of God to man starting with Jesus speaking that He did not call the righteous… but the sinner. So the call of Jesus is to a state of being as well as to a state of mind; a condition of attitude and acknowledgment.
The call is to those who have need of God; those without God, the sinner, who is removed from Him.
The called are those who know their need from their very lack, from their separation, from their impoverished state, from there desperation, from their hopelessness. They are dejected, ambiguous and without joy or peace.

He does not call the proud, the ambitious, the elitist, the religious, all those who boast in their righteousness. Good people may want Him but have no need of Him.

Where are the nine?... is to point to the continued need, to the state of humility shown in gratitude, by overt thankfulness. Most of us shun from the thought of hearing His voice and we never see that outspoken thankfulness is the result of a humble heart. Jesus healed ten lepers but only one returned to thank Him. One found compassion to be his real need in his healing as a result of his thankful expression. It was no longer the healing but the healer he now responded to, unlike the nine who were content in receiving from God, but not receiving His love.

The result of the call to sinners who acknowledge their need is a state of humility. This state of humility from the acknowledgement of our need of God is not for entrance into the Kingdom nor to remain as a place of static subsistence nor is it the end of our need. Relationship begins because God provides it but the condition is not in our realizing it nor in pointing to the when or how or in what state God found us; it is in abiding in that which is the subject of our call; our motive is that we need God and that God is love… declares our ultimate need is to be loved by Him as demonstrated in Jesus and our response is to share that love with others. God heals man’s infirmities by mans faith so in that moment of the removal of their obstacle they are given opportunity by faith to receive the greater gift, God Himself… humility is that ground from which thankfulness flows and by faith working in us we can receive His love.

As Adam was in need, God provided a mate. God always provides love through relationship. And then He walked with them in the cool of the evening. Although God created us to have relationship to Him, He created a mate for daily moment to moment provision of Himself through personal loving relationship in another; He made them one.

This is the outline and the purpose of the body of Christ… to be one as Jesus and the Father are one.

Note: Relationship as God provides is selfless when and as a need that is established by Him is met, it is met in perfect love and so it is unity. Unity in God is perfect love made manifest through relationship by His presence. Translated as “Always try to keep the unity that the Spirit gives…” God is perfect unity, brings us to “where ever two or more…” God provides our deepest need to be met by the perfect love of His presence. It begins now in the material world to which we are created and brings us into the spiritual world of His eternal presence.

And now we know in Christ “Where two or more…” God is in the midst of selfless love.

To be called is to be singled out by our need… God knows our need it is of Him, to be loved by Him. Now in Jesus that love is given absolute fulfillment it is not just for here and now, Jesus opened the door to eternal loving relationship through His resurrection.

Jesus provided healing to broken hearts, broken spirits, broken minds and broken bodies in view of our greatest need; separation from Him which is death; a lonely, loveless state. Let us look at death as the removal from being made whole by not being loved, leaving us in a state of absolute loneliness. Maybe you have even heard the expression of a need to be broken or brokenness is how God works, it is in us reaching out from our desperate need to the only answer.

The example of healing through Jesus reveals His compassion for us. He not only removes a physical impediment but an obstacle to our relationship, healed we have a need met that we thought was our greatest need only to find a greater need; His love. The compassion that touched our wound brings man to a base thankfulness and a point of humility that allows us to see our real need. Those that have no need of God, love themselves and their selfish quest separates them more and more from Him and from everyone in that never ending circle to be self-fulfilling. Every relationship of the Godless is for personal gain, they trust no one and they find every reason to believe that all men are as selfish as they are; lonely and ever seeking fulfillment for their lack, they remove themselves from God and insulate themselves by surrounding themselves with lusts of this world. Not being able to serve two God’s they serve selfish gain; mammon.

Have you been called?
Have you received the fullness of His love?
Are you humbly dying daily or have you leveled off to a place of comfort?
Are you in a battle to fulfill the command to love or are there too many other issues that we have put before us?
We are called to live by faith in the light of His love…
Without relationship we shall not endure…
Do you know His voice?
Can you hear Him today?
Have you received… are you receiving… will you receive?...
