Meditation...

In today’s world… everywhere you look; someone is vying for you attention.

Starting with the age-old egocentricity of politicians to the highly motivated advertisements driven by fear for the sake of greed.

Look here! Believe me! Buy me! Remember this! I’ll change things! You can’t live without this! I’ll give you what you want! Your neighbor has it! Look at the surveys… do they lie! Would I lie? I’ll tell the truth! It’s new… Newer… better… best!

Everywhere you look… Advertisement’s…

From the very clothes we wear our sports shoes, ties, scarves, pants, jackets, coats, sweaters, hats and that great medium of T shirts emblazoned with ad’s of every size and color. Hanging banners, sky writers, bus stops, buses inside and out, cab’s inside and even on the roof and placards on the trunk, bumper stickers, balloons, blimps, tractor trailers, trucks, vans, billboards, painted and printed on the floors of stores, sidewalks, curbs, outdoor wastepaper cans with placards, restaurant place-mat’s, everywhere you look… EVERYWHERE… there are signs trying to get your attention... and sell you something.

Our mail is full… even the Eye Dr. reminds you to buy new glasses. Lawyer’s, Dentist’s and even Hospitals vie for you business… Booklet’s, pamphlets, catalogs and more catalogs, flyers, Sales and more sales, bigger sales, holiday or special season sales. Coupons, rebate’s, new buyer, deals and more… buy one get one free… today only… half off… reduced… close out… everything must go… grand opening… going out of business… free trip… free, free, free…

Radio… TV… even movie trailers have Ad’s. A rented video has ads. Now the net… SPAM… and almost every web page have a banner… uh… an Ad.

It’s old… it’s the same… with words they try to make it new, better, improved, playing on the hope we will believe them… and buy their selfish lie’s!

These are the meditations of today… and they are all Godless!

Greed, ego, power and a host of selfish sensual motives are in your eyes and ears clogging up your senses… stealing our time diverting our attention and exploiting our finances.

You are meditating… sometimes with and mostly without your consent.

We are surrounded by selfishness and it’s ultimate desire to hold our every thought captive, to blot out any real awareness of God. To fade the only real love into the back round, that Jesus would take a backseat, to our selfish wants. In fact the exploiters use God… they have entertained us within the confines of Christianity. Money has replaced faith as the driving force of believers. Men in their flesh raise money and use money and say it is for God. You can be sure they take from this influx all they need and justify it because they have earned their reward. Choosing to ignore the example of Jesus and His teaching… our rewards are in heaven… my food is to be about the work of the Father…

Their cry of justification is "Christians shouldn’t be poor" ignores the very life of Jesus… what did He own?… or lay claim to? What are we to make of;

"Blessed ( Happy ) are the poor in Spirit" who’s poverty exceeds that of material possessions for want of hope! What of the surrendering of His life on the cross? Is this giving more or less then His possessions?

If we have Jesus we have everything… all our needs are met… what more can we ask for? Except for us to say, Jesus, you are not enough!… we just want what you can give us!

If what they do is of God they can take no credit and therefore take no benefit from their labors except their reward in heaven… For if you receive your reward here you will have no reward in heaven… it is not in receiving it is in giving… giving… giving… unto our life’s breath…

The meditations of God now are of Jesus… to dwell on Him, the reality to us…in us and through us… the glory of His ever flowing eternal love…

Meditation is to observe, be aware of by choice, dwell on, think and dream about… focus on, till we get past the surface of words… find new meaning… full meaning… God’s enlightenment… expansion and depth… revelation… alive in us…

Meditate on the line below… read it over and over… read it aloud… think on it as you start the day… during the day ( coffee break, lunch, posted where you can glance at it… ) then prayerfully at evening… considering how you are and have accomplished seeking the Kingdom during the day and how you will try to, in the coming day… focus till it is alive in you… then pass it on to others… this is what God means by meditations…

More then words to our ears or intellect or even our heart… words that become alive to us as Jesus is alive to us… alive in us… through us…

And so think on this; and meditate…

Seek ye first the Kingdom of God…

that is found by knowing Jesus…

within us…

then seeking Him by serving Him in the brothers…

and Together filled… with the joy of His loving presence…

each day…

serving Him in each man…

every man…
