Are you able?

Perception plays such a major roll in our life and with little understanding of the magnitude of its effect daily in our choices. We look at things but do we really see what is there? We too often forget our life in Christ moment to moment for our view of the world fills our eyes and blinds us to the truth. This daily compilation of views overshadows that which is to be the focus of our insight. What we see was made from what we can’t see.

Can you see what we can’t see?
Yet we are to see by faith?
Just what are we to see by faith?

What have you received?
The Spirit of God…
The love of God…
The Son of God…
The Kingdom of God…
The Resurrection…
Can you see them… yet they are with you… in you! Where? In your heart!
What does God say by His Spirit?
Look about you, all these things are in plain view. They are before our very eyes.

Why can’t we see?
We are surrounded by those who acted in faith to set the foundation, those who we can’t see, without looking through the eyes of faith. We need faith not to see their person but to see more of God in and through them and how He reaches us here and now. God affects our lives using the faith of their lives as signs to see Him more clearly. To encourage us, to sustain us, to fill us, to grow us and mercifully use us mercifully... by faith.

Starting with Able…
\What do we see?
Love is able…

He was the second child born on earth. He was a herdsman, a keeper of Sheep. He made an offering of a lamb to God. He was for his offering accepted by God. He was slain by his brother Cain. His is the first death. The first killed. The first blood spilled. He is the first martyr.

Why was he killed… murdered?
Looking to Able, to his life, his death and to the events surrounding God’s given observation to us, what do you see?

What is your perception?
A servant of God whose life is taken? A young man never to grow old? A life cut short? Why did God allow it? Why did Cain resort to murder? Have we learned that jealousy is evil? Can we see that anger can destroy? Do we ask why does Cain get to live? Did we ever consider their parents? Do we feel it’s unfair? Do we feel it’s wrong? Does the whole event mystify us? Do we relate to Cain or Able? Can we see the symbols of the offering of the lamb… the blood… brother killing brother… do we see the similes to Jesus?

Able is able.
Able is the first sign of living in faith…

There are many that follow, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses and the list goes on… The example is if we find ourselves acceptable to God and living in faith, we shall be assailed by evil. Jesus was led by the Spirit to be tempted by Satan when He came out of the waters of baptism. Do we see… have we learned yet, it is not how long you live.
It is just how you live by faith.

Nothing is taken from Able. He is with God… he has his reward. Jesus is martyred as a young man. A good life as a servant of God, is not how long you live; Cain lived a long life in shame; those who killed Jesus died forever; it’s are you living faithfully in God's love. Think of Jesus and what He had to endure at the hands of angry sinners. They were all against Him… all at once… look to Him and you will not tire or grow weary. Look to His sacrifice. Focus on Him... He loves you. We are after all alive, and they don’t hate us yet. But the day is coming… they will kill us, are you willing to follow? You must see Him to follow Him.

Perception is; Without Jesus we are blind.
We need to see Him… we need to see like Him…
Can you see?

Well… Are you Cain? Or are you Able?
