Darkness…
Behold the darkness of night comes…
let us work, for soon we shall not be able to work.
What is darkness?
Why will we not be able to work?
The void that God created in the beginning was
darkness and then He created the light and it was good!
The world was in darkness and then out of His love for us He sent Jesus.
Jesus is… God with us… salvation!
Jesus is… The light of the world!
The
people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in
the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
Matthew 4:16
When we think of night it is prevailing darkness.
Darkness may be first considered shadows but described by Jesus it is
blackness of night without the benefit of the moon which reflects the
sun’s light… there is no light here nor reflection… not a glimmer.
Too often when we think of death we think of
prevailing darkness. An endless deep and foreboding silence of hopeless
blackness. A place without light, a place of blindness, a place of
groping and buried in the thickness is a sense of displacement and loss.
It is cold from the removal of all love.
But
if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If
therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that
darkness!
Matthew 6:23
For self-love is separation and separation is
death!
We are gathered into something yet alone and dismal forever…
We are to be people of the light; who live in the
light and bring light to the darkness of others. But the end comes with
darkness and we can no longer labor in it.
Why?
The end comes with surrounding darkness because we fail our mission to
bring light into their darkness. The darkness that comes ushering in the
end is the blackness of anti-Christ. When men’s hearts are full of
themselves and they reject the light… they are the darkness that comes.
They are the loveless antichrist.
The power of darkness is Satan.
When God is not with us there is gloom. Soon we will be surrounded by
it.
In the Hebrew, the roots of darkness begin with misery; ignorance;
sorrow; wickedness; destruction and death…
The results of being without God (sin) we removed from the light and are
in darkness and in danger of that darkness filling our very souls…
And
this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men
loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 3:19
It may be time to review those things that
remove us or separate us from Jesus…
In sin we are in darkness removed from God.
We bask, turning from the light, to relish self-satisfied realizing that
we are admiring our own shadow… we attempt to rest here… hidden we
marvel in our return to selfishness… the darkness of our shadow delights
and titillates us… now the light is a place to return to or it begins to
annoy us… for our want to hide the delights of our selfish flesh… if we
continue on in our shadow we close our eyes to the light to remain in
darkness and how dark that is… finally we deny that we are blind… even
in our ability to see we are wanton reprobate in the pleasure of our own
making and justify our absence of the light of truth… we are twice dead!
Jesus has brought us out of darkness into His
marvelous light!
But the end comes in the Earth covered in darkness…
These are the tortured souls who rail against the light.
These are the blasphemers who curse the love that reaches out to them.
These are the haters of mercy for they see it as weakness.
These are the bearers of doom and gloom… living dead.
These are the ungodly lot who fill the Earth with selfish endeavor.
These are mockers of what is God’s for a compromise of being agreeable,
acceptable.
These are the souls of darkness by their own choosing.
These are those who hate us and are beginning to speak out with disdain
about us even now.
They presently hate what is of God… for it exposes their selfishness.
They laud truth without love… it is of course another God.
They hate what we stand for… there is no giving only taking.
They hate what we believe… for to them it is weakness to love selflessly
and sacrificially.
Soon, very soon they will all hate us… and cry for our demise.
These are the living dead… the Antichrist!
The darkness that comes is already here… filling
the souls of man with selfish contempt.
Selfishness is in the world and pervading the Church and hearts are
waxing cold even as Jesus declared. Without compassion they are filled
with foreboding emptiness, the disobedient, the arrogant, murmurs,
mockers, liars, and defilers all, loveless all, in that they are in the
Kingdom… without fruit. Their Kingdom is death, of their own making.
The Church is losing faith. Believers are constantly turning from the
light to the internal darkness, hidden in guise of love; which it is…
self love!
It has been replacing love one another as Jesus commanded with ceremony,
rites and rituals, rules and order that in the very invitation to the
Holy Spirit deny Him.
Selfish contentment without sacrifice, the quick fix, an appearance of
good without content, a semblance of work without love, the commission
of look what I’ve done.
All in the out cry to God… the hollow echo of let us reach your ears… a
now and then attempt… a try, without lasting hope… a moment of peace and
that amid a life of selfish wanton rebellion and turmoil.
The very call to an external God is a cry of the
flesh, a cry for light to bask in but never to allow its entrance into
the heart. A time and place relationship founded on a tribute much like
Cain… a halfhearted giving and then what do we really give? This is the
cry that finds itself in time, gnashing its teeth for the desperation of
want and has found itself cold and in darkness… awaiting death.
But
the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there
shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 8:12
They have left their first love and as much as they
try they can’t give up their self love to return to the light. Wanting
both they find they cannot serve two masters and stay awaiting to be
spewed.
We are seeing the beginning of the division in the Church that will
bring the elitists, the legalists, the sanctimonious, the fickle, the
pretenders, the ambitious, and the mammon lovers who serve for filthy
lucre (They work for money), the war-mongers who kill in the name of
Jesus and all the proud heartless souls that have already given
themselves over to fear. For it will be fear, that will cause them to
desire to destroy the faithful for want of protecting their defilement
of the love of God.
It has been said “Let His blood be on our
hands and the hands of our children!” This intent is waiting
to be released from the souls of hate.
Death is not in the taking of life but in
destruction of the soul who chooses to kill.
Death to the faithful is life eternal.
Martyrdom is proof of our faithfulness!
We are children of the light… the eternal light.
We have been called… out of darkness.
Those that reject the call live in darkness and soon there will be many
who will not only speak out against the love of God in rejecting any
mention of the name Jesus but will wantonly destroy those that praise
His name and live in the love of Jesus.
This is why there is but a remnant.
Few will stay the narrow path.
Few will not fear the coming persecution and leave the faith.
Few will not succumb to the allurement of the things and love of the
world.
Fewer still will endure to the end holding fast to their first love…
Jesus!
We are in a season of choosing… will we defend
ourselves, excuse ourselves, justify ourselves, glazing over our
selfishness as if it were not in essence at enmity with God.
Will we or can we, humble ourselves before Him who is our all in all,
our faith, our hope, the creator of life, the savior of our souls… the
light of the world and the world to come… Jesus!
The night comes and the darkness is falling all
around us as men yield to wickedness and the lusts of the world filling
their souls with death. And killing in the name of God all those who are
of God in Jesus!
Soon we will be embraced by death on every side and its cold breath
shall speak to us and begin courting us, then they will continually try
to persuade us, then it will be warning and demanding us and finally it
will offer us death if we don’t comply; sealing its fate and freeing us
to martyrdom for His namesake… and His glory.
Then shall He darken the Sun and no man shall work.
Can you still hear…?
You cannot run from choice and you can’t put it
off, for that in itself is to choose…
“This is the day the Lord has made… that
we might rejoice and be glad…”
Light shining brightly in the midst of darkness and
the darker it gets the brighter we shine… darkness can never over come
the light… for the light has made a way… casting out darkness and ever
bringing hope to the hopeless and love to the loveless…
You are called to walk in the light… even as He is in the light…
“How do we know then
that we are living in the light… the way we love the brothers!”
We are called to be a city on a hill, casting out
the darkness and giving hope to the pilgrims to find us…
The city is many coming together in the light of His loving
relationship…
Are you scattering or gathering?
Are you relying on your independence of building relationships?
Let us labor in His love while there is still light!
